Demon Internet board advises shareholders to accept takeover

The board of THUS Group (Demon Internet) has issued a recommendation to its shareholders to accept the recent takeover offer from Cable & Wireless (C&W).
Those with shares have been offered 180p for each share, which correlates to a £329 million bid for the firm.
A closing date of September 9th has been set by C&W and the board has warned that it intends to accept "in respect of its own beneficial holdings".

Eclipse eyes ISP award

Eclipse Internet is looking to take the Best Internet Service Provider (ISP) award after being shortlisted for the PC Pro gong.
The potential winners are selected after UK customers vote for their favourite provider in each category in one of the largest IT surveys in the country.
Mark Thomas, head of sales and marketing at Eclipse, commented: "To be short listed for a PC Pro award is fantastic news, particularly as this is one of the few awards where customers are the judges."

Demon announces changes to fight off competitors

Broadband provider Demon Internet has announced it has enhanced its customers' webspace services.
In an effort to cope with bigger broadband providers, Demon has upgraded its customers' Homepages service to include QuickTime and MP3 streaming capabilities, ISP review reports.
The Homepages service now also enables broadband users to stream content on their websites, as part of Demon's efforts to concentrate on the small business end of the market. Demon has also announced it will maximise the bandwidth through the Homepages service.
