Orange's free broadband promotion returns
Internet service provider (ISP) Orange has announced that it will be bringing back its free broadband promotion.
Customers who purchase a £30 per month mobile phone contract will be eligible to receive broadband from the firm free of charge, reports ISP Review.
It is thought that Orange's move is intended to stem the flow of customers away from them towards their rivals.
Orange UK Broadband had a total of 1.063 million customers at the end of June 2008, a figure which was 2.5 per cent down on the same time last year.
A spokesperson for the company commented: "We can now say that line stability is better, provisioning speeds are faster and there are significantly less service faults reported than before."
It was added that the customer satisfaction scores were significantly better than those recorded 12 months ago.
Those who do not take advantage of the company's free broadband offer can still get a Home Starter connection from £6 each month.
