Children's internet launched
Families concerned about their children browsing the internet through a broadband connection may be interested in a new service called KidZui.
The service, pronounced kid-zoo-ee, is a browser aimed at young people aged three to 12 years old which allows them access to 500,000 websites which have been deemed child-appropriate.
Chairman and chief executive of the company Cliff Boro explained: "KidZui is not the adult internet filtered for kids. Instead, we have built an entire internet just for kids from the ground up, along with a brand-new, kid-friendly interface."
It has been developed so that children can navigate around the internet using graphics and allows them to create an individual avatar.
Points are rewarded for items discovered or rated, which leads to higher levels of access, as well as social interaction based on mutual parental consent.
Child-net, an organisation aimed at making the internet safer for children, last month support Safer Internet Day which encouraged parents to learn how to protect and encourage kids through broadband.
