Internet provider Zen has launched a new VoIP calls package to offer to its growing broadband customer base.

The service, Zen Broadband Voice, allows customers to speak for free through their VoIP headsets to other Zen users. The package also includes 1,000 anytime minutes to UK landlines for a set fee.

For those without VoIP hardware, Zen will supply the Speedtouch 780WL for a discounted rate when ordering the VoIP product. This router provides two ports for connection of telephone handsets and a connection into a telephone line in addition to the more standard four ethernet ports and wireless.

Stephen Warburton, strategic partnership manager at Zen, said: "The Voice service is an excellent add-on to our broadband packages. We have had many queries on whether we would be introducing a residential phone service, so we are delighted to be able to introduce Zen Broadband Voice."

Primarily connecting businesses, Zen has grown rapidly in the last decade, now employing more than 200 people at its Rochdale base.
