VoIP systems 'help business growth'

VoIP systems 'help business growth' Businesses across the UK are being urged to use broadband telephony services such as voice over internet protocol (VoIP) to improve their company.

Popular broadband telephone services such as Skype have a "potential impact on business performance" and can improve productivity, a member of the Communications Management Association (CMA) has claimed.

A new CMA report also shows that business growth in VoIP broadband technologies has grown by 50 per cent within the last three months. Last month, an Ofcom study found that the use of VoIP was increasing steadily over the residential and business sectors.

Maren Bennette, leader of the unified communications forum of the CMA, said: "[VoIP] has the potential to improve organisational effectiveness and thus improve business or organisational performance."

The CMA is an independent body which helps businesses with IT and broadband network solutions.
